Barcelona to beat Benfica @ 9/10

Barcelona are second in the Champions League table and know victory at Benfica on Matchday 7 should be enough to confirm a top-eight finish, which guarantees them a spot in the last 16.

Barca are likely to be on a high after recently securing the Spanish Super Cup thanks to a 5-2 win over Real Madrid and they have been impressive in Europe this season, winning five of their six League Phase games.

Hansi Flick’s team have hammered Bayern Munich 4-1, Young Boys 5-0 and Red Star Belgrade 5-2 in the competition so far, as well as recording a 3-0 win over Brest and a 3-2 victory at Borussia Dortmund.

If they maintain those standards, Benfica will struggle to cope even though they still have plenty to play for as well with Bruno Lage’s side 15th in the table but only three points adrift of the top eight.

Special of the day 

Liverpool v Lille - Bet Builder: Liverpool to Win to Nil and Mohamed Salah to Score Anytime @ 5/2

Liverpool need just a draw to confirm their top-eight finish but the leaders should book their last-16 spot with another victory, this time over Lille at Anfield.

The Reds can maintain their perfect record and make it seven wins from seven while securing a comfortable sixth in the competition this season without conceding to firmly underline their Champions League credentials.

Mohamed Salah has gone three games without a goal but the Egypt international has had another outstanding campaign, netting 21 times in total, including twice in the Champions League, and he can end his brief dry spell on Tuesday against the French side.

Long shot of the day 

Coventry to beat Blackburn Rovers @ 13/8

There are nine places and 10 points separating fifth-placed Blackburn and Coventry in the Championship but Rovers might be in for a tricky evening at home against Frank Lampard’s side.

Blackburn went down to a 1-0 defeat at Oxford on Saturday and John Eustace’s men have only won one of their last seven games in the second tier.

The Sky Blues can take advantage of that fragility by claiming all three points at Ewood Park as they look to build on Saturday’s 1-0 home victory over Bristol City.
