Over 3.5 goals in PSG v Manchester City @ 11/8

It’s a surprise to see PSG and Manchester City scrambling around for points on Matchday 7 of the Champions League, but the situation is that the two sides face a battle if they are to qualify for the knockout phase of the competition. 

Defeat for PSG in particular would leave the Parisians in an extremely difficult position and that desperation for points could lead to goals. 

City warmed up for Wednesday's tie with a 6-0 hammering of Ipswich and, while that victory came against low-level opposition, it was the most flowing and impressive performance we have seen for the Citizens for some time. 

For all that there have been struggles, Pep Guardiola’s men have scored 13 goals in six Champions League matches this season and they have the quality to expose PSG’s defence. 

Luis Enrique’s men have scored six goals in their last two matches and PSG certainly have the quality to cause a City rearguard missing John Stones, Kyle Walker and Nathan Ake problems. 

Two high-level teams striving for points is a recipe for goals and backing over 3.5 looks like the play in Paris.

Celtic -1 goal v Young Boys @ 4/5

The Celtic Park crowd will be at fever pitch with the Hoops able to close in on a spot in the knockout phase of the Champions League on Wednesday night and Young Boys may struggle to handle the occasion. 

The Bern side have lost all of their six Champions League matches this term, they have conceded 22 goals and scored just three and that doesn’t look like the form of a side that can stand up to a packed Parkhead. 

Celtic are making light work of inferior opposition domestically and the Bhoys have also been playing well in Europe this term. 

Brendan Rodgers’ men have lost only one of six Champions League matches and have beaten a good Leipzig side during that run and the Bhoys rate a handicap play against Young Boys. 

Long shot of the day 

Arsenal to score over 4.5 goals v Dimano Zagreb @ 18/5

Arsenal will have been disappointed to throw away a two-goal lead against Aston Villa last weekend, but there was nothing wrong with the Gunners’ attacking output in that contest. 

Mikel Arteta’s men hit 18 shots and scored two goals against a good Villa side and now take a major drop in class when Dimano Zagreb head to the Emirates. 

The Croatians have been beaten 9-2 by Bayern Munich and 3-0 by Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League this season and another heavy defeat is on the cards.
