The “Twilight Dream” Tam Nakano joins Io Shirai and Mayu Iwatani in becoming the only competitors to win STARDOM‘s top championship twice.
Tam Nakano had a rough 5Star Grand Prix run this past August. She failed to pick up a single victory in the Red Stars B block and placed last in the overall tournament. However, World of Stardom Champion Natsuko Tora still gave her one last opportunity to prove herself as a competitor. The two previously faced each other for the World of STARDON]M Title at Nagoya Golden Fight last October 2023. Nakano suffered a knee injury that took her out of action and forced her to relinquish her belt.
Tam Nakano and Natsuko Tora had their rematch this past Saturday, August 31, on the final night of the 5Star Grand Prix 2024. Natsuko targeted Tam’s previously injured knee throughout the match, and Nakano returned the favor to even the odds.
Natsuko’s H.A.T.E. unit members interfered on multiple occasions, but Tam’s Cosmic Angels allies came in to make the save. After all the chaos between the two factions, Tam Nakano executed her signature Twilight Dream maneuver to win the World of STARDOM Championship for the second time in her career.
Her victory marked the end of Natsuko Tora’s reign. Natsuko held the belt for 33 days, setting her in history as the shortest-reigning World of STARDOM Champion.
As previously reported, Maika eventually won the 5 Star Grand Prix following Tam and Natsuko’s match. Tam Nakano will then defend her newly won title against Maika in just two weeks at STARDOM Namba Grand Fight.
