In his continued effort to electrify the entire Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency, a Member of Federal House of Representatives from Taraba State, Jafaru Yakubu, who is the House Committee Chairman on Nigeria-China Relations, on Monday, flagged off the rural electrification/extension of a 33KVA line from Sunkani to Garba-Chede in Taraba State.
The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, represented by the Deputy Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hamma Adama Abdullahi, in his remarks highlighted the importance of electricity for the economic growth of the communities and urged the contractors to effectively extend the light to all the nooks and cranies of Garba-Chede town for everyone to have access to electricity.
He observed that the ongoing electrification and the already installed solar street lights underscored the true sign of Hon. Jafaru’s concern over the issues affecting his constituency and beyond.
In his speech, Hon. Jafaru expressed his commitment and readiness to bring more developmental projects into Garba-Chede.
The lawmaker noted that the people of Garba-Chede should continue to support and pray for him as he tends to initiate more empowerment and development programmes that will positively affect all the constituents.
The event was graced by the PDP State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, and Hon. Veronica Alhassan, who was represented by Mallam Habila Bala Balasa.
Others at the event included the Special Assistant to Governor on Media and Digital Communication, Emmanuel Bello; Jafaru Yakubu Campaign Council Chairman, Alhaji Uba Sanda; among others.
Speaking on behalf of the community, Alhaji Mustapha Musa hailed the lawmaker for his efforts at connecting Garba-Chede to the national grid.
He noted that for over 30 years, residents of the community had been in darkness, living without electricity that should ordinarily improve their lives and businesses.
