Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter are working late ‘cause they’re singers!
The You Belong with Me songstress took her Eras Tour to New Orleans on Saturday and surprised fans by summoning a special guest! During the show, the 34-year-old called up the Feather singer and asked if she had time in her busy schedule to come on down for a duet… And Sabrina said she’d be there in “five seconds” before appearing on the Caesars Superdome stage! HA! What a cute little introduction!
Taylor then started strumming her guitar as Sabrina sang the lyrics to Espresso — but asked if she could be the one to sing the viral “I’m working late ‘cause I’m a singer” lyrics! She said:
“I want to do the thing. Can I do it? Oh my god I’m about to do it!”
Tay sang the rest of the verse before switching up to the lyrics from her own song Is It Over Now? And eventually Sabrina’s Please Please Please. So cool!
Sabrina served as Taylor’s Eras Tour opening act for a large chunk of its run, but has since debuted her own album Short n’ Sweet and hit the ground running with her own tour. But on Sunday, she took to Instagram to share photos from the iconic duet and to thank Tay. She wrote:
“only stage i’d ever wanna see on a day off !!!! thank you for working late, thank you for being a singer and thank you for having me @taylorswift i love you!!
