Taylor Swift sings medley of Joe Jonas breakup songs in Toronto on Eras Tour: ‘Sophie Turner’s special request’

Taylor Swift stunned fans when she sang a mashup of two songs she wrote about her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas during her Eras Tour concert in Toronto on Thursday.

During the surprise songs portion of her show, Swift kicked off the medley by singing “Mr. Perfectly Fine” followed by “Better Than Revenge,” sending the crowd into a screaming frenzy.

“Better Than Revenge” was featured on her 2010 album, “Speak Now,” and is widely believed to be about Jonas leaving Swift for actress Camilla Belle. Meanwhile, “Mr. Perfectly Fine,” a song about a boyfriend making false promises, was written in 2008 but released in 2021 on “Fearless (Taylor’s Version).”

Swift, 34, and Jonas, 35, began dating in July 2008 when they were both 18 years old. However, three months later, he infamously broke up with her during a 27-second phone call.

After years of feuding over her breakup songs, the exes struck up an amicable friendship. Swift was even rumored to have sent Jonas gifts when he welcomed two daughters with his now-ex-wife, Sophie Turner.

Following Thursday’s surprise songs, many fans took to social media to rave about the medley, with one person writing on X, “Taylor swift did the most funny thing by playing a mashup of Mr perfectly fine (written for Joe Jonas) and better than revenge (a song written about Joe Jonas cheating on her).”

Others were concerned about the Jonas Brothers member, with one netizen writing, “joe jonas just felt a sharp pain at the back of his neck.”

“Somebody check on Joe Jonas,” another posted, while a third asked, “Is Joe Jonas ok?”

Some fans even speculated that Swift sang the songs in support of her friend Turner.

“sophie turner has this video in her bookmarks,” one person quipped on X, while a second wrote, “she said hope sophie turner is having a good day.”

“Sophie Turner’s special request,” a third fan joked as another wrote, “She said she will avenge Sophie Turner.”

Many even asked whether the “Game of Thrones” alum, 28, was in the audience for Swift to have sung those two specific songs.

Jonas and Turner began dating in October 2016 and got engaged exactly a year later. They tied the knot in May 2019 with a Las Vegas wedding and welcomed daughters Willa and Delphine in July 2020 and July 2022, respectively.

However, by the summer of 2023, things turned sour for the couple, prompting the DNCE frontman to file for divorce in September.

The actress subsequently sued Jonas for “wrongfully retaining” their daughters and hiding their passports so she could not take them to her native England.

Swift stepped in at the time and offered Turner a place to stay while the Emmy nominee negotiated a child custody plan with her estranged husband.

They finalized their divorce in September, and Turner has moved on with Peregrine Pearson. As for Swift, she has been dating Travis Kelce since the summer of 2023.
