EXCLUSIVE: Taylor Tomlinson (At Midnight) is set to publish Actually, Nevermind, a collection of humorous autobiographical essays through a new deal with Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. Simon & Schuster Audio will release the audio edition, to be read by Tomlinson.
Much like her comedy, Actually, Nevermind will speak to the “dizzying contradictions that so many of us experience as we find our way in the world—and the transient nature of opinions and beliefs as one enters adulthood,” according to the release.
“I have always wanted to write a book,” Tomlinson shared in a statement. “I want to explore all the topics I’ve changed my mind about—both the serious and the ridiculous—that will no doubt make me look like the self-aware (and occasionally wise) idiot that I am. None of us are set in stone and I hope this book will remind people that we can change our opinions at any time (except about ‘morning people,’ I will die on that hill).”
This is the first book by Tomlinson, who just kicked off the first leg of her “Save Me” stand-up tour. In 2023, she was named the highest-grossing female comedian touring by Billboard. Her stand-up shows were also highlighted via three hour-long specials for Netflix, including Quarter-Life Crisis (2020), Look At You (2022), and Have It All (2024).
Tomlinson was tapped to host the CBS late-night panel show After Midnight, making her the only female late-night host on network television. She made her debut on January 17, with news arriving in June that the show was renewed for a second season with Tomlinson returning. After Midnight airs Monday through Friday, 12:37-1:37 AM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
Actually, Nevermind will be released by Simon & Schuster Canada, simultaneously with the U.S. release.
“We are delighted to publish Taylor Tomlinson,” said Jennifer Bergstrom, Senior Vice President and Publisher of Gallery Books. “She is a once-in-a-generation talent who will bring her natural storytelling gifts and incisive wit to the page.”
Vice President and Executive Editor Lauren Spiegel and Senior Editor Molly Gregory acquired North American and audio rights in a deal brokered by UTA.
