Tchouameni, the verdict falls

It is no longer a surprise at Real Madrid: Aurélien Tchouameni will once again play in central defense during the Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern to allow Eduardo Camavinga to start in midfield.

Carlo Ancelotti has his typical team. This mainly impacts Aurélien Tchouameni. The defensive midfielder of Real Madrid and the French team started as a central hinge alongside Antonio Rüdiger in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League against Manchester City (before being suspended on the return during the penalty shootout on goal) then during the Clasico snatched against Barça (3-2). Excellent in duels, he is a captain on whom the Merengues can count.

This is the trend on the Casa Blanca side, while awaiting the return to form of Eder Militao (who resumed and was started last Friday in La Liga). Tchouameni is thus announced as the holder in defense by Relevo for the LDC semi-final first leg against Bayern, Tuesday evening (9 p.m.) at the Bernabéu. This choice clearly allows Eduardo Camavinga to start in midfield alongside Toni Kroos. The former Rennais is capable of making the difference at any time by accelerating with the ball.

Bellingham and Vinicius are ready

To contain Jamal Musiala and Harry Kane, the Madrid rearguard will be completed by Lucas Vazquez (rather than Dani Carvajal) and Ferland Mendy on the sides. The Ancelotti (father and son) will be able to count on their usual offensive strengths and can always innovate by placing Rodrygo on the left (a counterpart to Federico Valverde on the right), in order to give even more freedom to the cracks Jude Bellingham and Vinicius.

The Real staff was able to spare everyone in the offensive sector since Arda Güler, Brahim Diaz and Dani Ceballos played in support of Joselu during the success in San Sebastián (0-1, goal by Güler). Vazquez, Rüdiger, Camavinga, Valverde and Vini Jr came on in the second half, while Lunin, Kroos and Bellingham did not need to come off the bench.

The probable line-up of Real Madrid: Lunin – Lucas, Rüdiger, Tchouameni, Mendy – Valverde, Camavinga, Kroos – Bellingham – Rodrygo, Vinicius.
