A few weeks ago, Mick Foley revealed on the final episode of his Foley Is Pod podcast that he is interested in having one final match. Foley wants it to be a deathmatch for his 60th birthday, and he hopes to wrestle after he loses 100 pounds.
“Just to put it out there, Conrad — 60 is right around the corner. I’m thinking of doing one final match for my 60th birthday. Deathmatch,” Foley stated. “I’m not kidding. I think it would be a great incentive to drop those 100 big ones [pounds]. And I think it might be fun.”
During an episode of Everybody’s Got a Pod podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase shared his thoughts on Foley’s decision to compete in a Deathmatch.
“No! [He didn’t hear about Mick Foley wanting to wrestle in one more match]. Well… Mick’s a great guy. And he’s a smart… He’s a intelligent guy. If he can handpick his opponent that would be good. And obviously, it’s a work. And so, he could get in shape. That’s not a bad idea. But I got 10 years on him. I think I’ve waited a little bit too long to go back and have one more match.”
Co-host Marcus DeAngelo joked that he knew a guy that could face Foley in the match, hinting at DiBiase. The Million Dollar Man also mentioned that he would need to be paid a huge amount for him to be Foley’s final opponent.
“Well, like the Million Dollar Man says, ‘Everybody’s got a price,’” DiBiase replied. “It would be a steep one for sure.”
Mick Foley claimed this might help him lose 100 pounds
During the Foley is Pod episode, Mick Foley also shared that this decision to wrestle one last time will help him lose 100 pounds.
“I’m just thinking about it. I put it out there to two of my kids. They’re like, ‘Would you get hurt?’ [I said,] ‘Yeah, probably.’ [Laughs] But I wouldn’t have to get my brain rattled. I’m not averse to a few stitcharoonies here and there, just something [I’ve thought about for] 60,” Foley explained.
“It won’t be for everyone, and [rightfully so]. But it could help me lose 100 pounds, and that’s what I’m missing because I did drop the 100 — I have the WrestleMania thing, I already lost 50, I have Vince in my ear where I made the promise to him that I’d be down 80 — and I don’t have any type of incentive,” Foley added. “It’s just something I’m throwing out there, so this time next year, we might have to revisit that option.”
