In an important development, the Telangana Congress government has decided to introduce the ABCD categorization for Scheduled Caste (SC) sub-castes. This decision comes after the Supreme Court gave a favorable verdict supporting the categorization.

The Chief Minister announced in the state assembly that the new reservation policies will be put into effect through the existing notifications. He also mentioned that if needed, a special ordinance would be introduced to ensure these reservations are implemented.
