Erik ten Hag suggests Manchester United will make more signings before deadline day.

Speaking to reporters ahead of United’s trip to Brighton, Ten Hag was asked if United had planned any more transfers before deadline day.

There are nine days left until deadline day and United are still being heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

“Be patient, sit, wait, keep working hard, we will always try to make the best squad available, we have a couple of days and we will always improve, as long as we have the opportunity we will look for it,”Manchester Evening News Ten Hag said, as quoted by the .

The manager added: “I didn’t say I’m looking for transfers coming in, also I don’t say that players are going out. Patience. You guys wait.”

One reporter asked Ten Hag a question specific to Ugarte when he said: “When we have news we will bring it.”

United have made four signings thus far this summer: Joshua Zirkzee (Bolonga), Leny Yoro (Lille), Matthijs de Ligt (Bayern Munich) and Noussair Mazraoui.

“Yes, very pleased,” Ten Hag said about his new additions this summer.

“They’re showing we’re going in the right direction, we know as a club we have to catch up but it shows our ambition, the way we want to go, we have done good business, very good players, quality players who will add, contribute to our squad.”

Facundo Pellistri announced his United exit for Greek Cup holders Panathinaikos. Ten Hag wished the winger well, saying: “He’s a very talented player, progressed very good last year, but we have a lot of competition in wide areas.

“We look at what we need as a squad but every player needs a perspective and in this moment we had many players to compete in these positions.

“We couldn’t give him the right perspective but he has high potential and he needs games to improve and progress. He gets the opportunity at Panathinaikos.”
