Out with injury on Sunday evening during the Barcelona-Athletic Bilbao match (0-0), Pedri and Frenkie de Jong are determined on their fate.

The verdict is in. Both forced out with injuries during the draw between FC Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao (0-0), Sunday evening in La Liga, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong will miss several weeks of competition.

“Frenkie de Jong suffers from a sprain of the external ligament of his right ankle. Pedri, meanwhile, suffers from an injury to the rectus femoris muscle in his right thigh. They are unavailable and the duration of their absence will depend on their progress”declared the Catalan club in a press release published this Monday.

According to the Spanish press, Pedri will be absent from the field for 5 to 6 weeks, while Frenkie de Jong will be out for 3 to 4 weeks. The two men are therefore forfeited for the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League against Naples (1-1 first leg).
