Joel Glazer spoke directly to fans of Manchester United this week, which came as a surprise because the Glazers haven’t met with or shown an interest in fans since their takeover in 2005.

It’s been a dismal start to the season for the Reds, having accumulated just eight points from their opening seven Premier League matches, leaving them sat 14th in the league table.

Poor form has led to pressure inevitably growing on Erik ten Hag, with reports suggesting he is walking on a tightrope to keep his job.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Talk of the Devils podcast, respected journalist Andy Mitten revealed that Joel Glazer has communicated face-to-face with United fans at a Fans Advisory Board meeting on Monday.

The Glazer family sold a large portion of their majority stake in Manchester United back in February, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe becoming co-owner after purchasing a 27.7% share.

Ratcliffe met with fans shortly after his acquisition but it was a rare appearance for one of the Glazers.

Mitten said: “I think you’re right, Laurie, about Joel Glazer. That is the first time he has sat face-to-face with Manchester United fans, because he called in on Zoom last time.

“So that is significant, and what’s happening now, I mean, I feel like my anger came across in the podcast a week ago. I think I’ve gone through that stage now. I wouldn’t say that I’m resigned, but I didn’t expect United to win at Villa. But then the game starts, and you go on, go on, and it’s not a bad result, 0-0 against Aston Villa. But, it’s under this huge cloud at the moment of a really poor start to the season, poor results, and uncertainty around the manager. The fans, I think there’s very, very little support for Erik ten Hag.”

I hope the elected FAB members (United fans on the Fans’ Advisory Board) challenged Glazer because his family is responsible for destroying our football club over the past 18 years.
