They had plans. Wrestling promotions can put together a plan for any given event but that does not mean it is going to work out in the end. There are all kinds of reasons that something might be changed and you never know how things are going to shift on the way to the event. Unfortunately that was the case again this week as a planned match was not able to go on.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Planned Out: How WWE Was Going To Switch WrestleMania Main Event From Cody Rhodes To The Rock

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plans for this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite called for Orange Cassidy to defend the International Title against Trent Beretta. However, the match did not take place as Beretta had to miss the show due to a legitimate illness. Instead of facing Beretta, Cassidy fought Mike Bennett in a non-title match. There is no word on when Beretta will be returning to the ring.
