‘The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri Gives Her Parents All The Credit After Winning Emmy For Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series

After taking home the Golden Globe for best supporting female actor in a TV series for her season two performance, Ayo Edebiri finally received her Emmy recognition for season one of her show The Bear and said this win only happened because of her parents support.

“This is a show about family and found family and real family and my parents are here tonight and I’m making them sit far away from me because I’m a bad kid but thank you,” “Thank you so much for loving me and letting me feel beautiful and black and proud of all of that. Edebiri beat out Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Janelle James (Abbott Elementary), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary), Juno Temple (Ted Lasso), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) and Jessica Williams (Shrinking). Heading into the night The Bear was heavy favorite in all major categories and this marked the first win of the night.

Even though The Bear premiered in 2022 and already earned several accolades, this was the first time the Emmys have been able to properly honor the show since it first premiered after Emmy nomination deadlines.
