That could be a thing. The big story coming out of WrestleMania 40 is Cody Rhodes defeating Roman Reigns to become the WWE Universal Champion. This came with Reigns having the Rock backing him up, but now the Rock has said he is taking some time off. Rock has promised to come back to deal with Rhodes though, and now we know more about how that might go.

It is not clear when Rock vs. Rhodes will take place. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match is not likely for Summerslam as the Rock will be filming a movie through July, which would not leave him enough time to train for a match. Rock is said to want the match to headline WrestleMania 41. This would mean at least a year long reign for Rhodes as champion, though Rock did mention he would face Rhodes either for the title or not. There has also been discussion of the Rock’s People’s Championship being on the line as well.

There is a lot to them. Check out Rock and Rhodes together:

Opinion: It shouldn’t be a surprise that Rock vs. Rhodes is coming at some point in the future, though the question now is how long it is going to be before it takes place. Rock and Rhodes could be in for a huge showdown if given the chance and that might be what we are going to be seeing next year at WrestleMania. That is something to look forward to and now we get to see how we get there.
