The big piece for Losc!

The draw for the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League offered Lille a duel against the competition favorite, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.

No luck for Lille. If PSG and OM avoided the worst in the Champions League and the Europa League, without having an easy time, Losc fell on the team which is the favorite for the Europa Conference League, Aston Villa.

While a duel against Viktoria Plzen or PAOK Salonika would have been much more affordable, Paulo Fonseca’s men will come up against the current fourth in the Premier League, a team which is currently ahead of Tottenham and Manchester United in the race for the Champions League. Under the leadership of Unai Emery, Aston Villa is one of the great surprises in the English championship this season.

An explosive half?

The first leg will take place in Birmingham, where Ajax suffered a heavy correction on Thursday evening (4-0). The goal for Losc will be to stay alive before returning to their stadium. In the semi-final, the winner will face the survivor of the electric confrontation between Olympiakos and Fenerbahçe. In the other part of the table, less interesting a priori, we will find in particular Fiorentina and FC Bruges.

The quarter-finals will take place on the same days as those of the Europa League, April 11 and 18. The semi-finals are scheduled for May 2 and 9, while the final will be held on May 29 in Athens. And the road to Greece has not become easier for Losc.
