The disenchantment between the general public and the French team is characterized by the low audiences for the Blues on TF1.
This Monday evening, Belgium welcomes France to Brussels, on the occasion of the fourth day of the League of Nations. A meeting which will once again be broadcast by TF1, from 8:45 p.m. Last Thursday, the match against Israel had a catastrophic audience.
Indeed, according to data from Médiamétrie, only 3.9 million viewers were in front of their televisions to watch this new soporific match of the Blues, despite the big victory (1-4). It has been more than five years since Didier Deschamps’ men had achieved such a poor result in this area.
The Blues are no longer popular on TV
It was June 2, 2019 and France won in a friendly match, against Bolivia at the Beaujoire stadium (2-0) in front of 2.95 million viewers. Except that this meeting was broadcast on TMC, while that of last Thursday was broadcast by TF1. The one which is supposed to be the leading channel in France and even in Europe in terms of audience.
In the Nations League, the Blues’ previous matches against Italy and Belgium had attracted just over five million viewers. The opposition this Monday evening, again against the Red Devils, should achieve a better score than that of last Thursday, due to the quality of the poster proposed.
