EXCLUSIVE: Karen Fukuhara, one of the stars of Prime Video’s global hit superhero series The Boys, has signed with Independent Artist Group for representation.
Fukuhara is just the latest star of the Eric Kripke series, based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, to sign with IAG, following Jessie T. Usher and Laz Alonzo.
Returning for its fourth season over the summer, The Boys is a darkly satirical series about a group of vigilantes taking on corrupt and dangerous superheroes, or “Supes,” created by a shady corporation called Vought International. Fukuhara plays Kimiko, a mute woman with a traumatic past, who gains superhuman strength, agility, and regenerative powers after being subjected to the experimental drug Compound V, using her abilities to fight alongside Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his vigilante team.
Nominated for eight Emmys, among numerous other accolades, and spawning a few spin-offs, the show is expected to return for its fifth and final season in 2026.
On the feature side, Fukuhara was last seen starring opposite Brad Pitt and Joey King in Sony and 87North’s Bullet Train, an action-comedy from director David Leitch. Breaking out with her role of Katana in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad for Warner Bros/DC, the actress has also over the years cultivated a robust career in voiceover. Most recently, Fukuhara was heard in Studio Ghibli’s Academy Award-winning The Boy and the Heron as Lady Himi and Amazon’s animated reboot Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. Previously, she voiced Haru from Pokémon Concierge, Kipo from Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts, and Glimmer from the Netflix series, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
Fukuhara continues to be represented by Stride Management and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
