HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty came in second place with five nominations, with the premium cabler’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, the long-running, improvised comedy from Larry David, securing four nominations, including in the categories of Outstanding Comedy and Comedy Actor, on the heels of its May finale.
FX’s well-liked Reservation Dogs also claimed four nominations.
To date, Netflix’s The Crown has won 21 Emmys from 69 nominations, whereas Curb Your Enthusiasm surprisingly has won just 2 from 51. Reservation Dogs was only previously nominated once, for its sound editing in 2023, while Archer has previously claimed a pair of statuettes from eight nominations, and The Other Two secured a comedy writing nom, also in 2023. Neither The Afterparty or The Good Doctor has previously been nominated.
This year’s Primetime Emmys will take place at the Peacock Theater downtown on September 15.
