EXCLUSIVE: The Crown producer Michael Casey has completed his royal tour of duty.

Casey has told colleagues that he is leaving Left Bank Pictures after a 16-year association with the Sony Pictures Television-owned production company.

Casey produced shows for Left Bank for years before becoming a member of staff in 2016. He was elevated to a board post in 2020 and played a pivotal role in delivering every season of The Crown to Netflix.

Casey’s other Left Bank credits include ITV drama Father and Son, starring Dougray Scott, BBC series Zen, and Strike Back, the Sky/HBO drama.

Casey said: “I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have been part of a best-in-class producing team on The Crown and to have spent so much time with such a wonderful cast and crew.

“It was very much in the context of the show coming to an end that it felt like the right time for me to take a break, a breath and a moment to consider what new opportunities the future might hold.”

Left Bank CEO Andy Harries added: “Michael is one of the most responsible, talented and professional super humans I have ever worked with. He is the best. I will miss his devotion and dry humour very much.”
