The Diplomat season two is returning to Netflix in just a few days, but a surprising revelation was just made by the show’s creator Debora Cahn. The second season of the Keri Russell-led thrilled is set to drop on Thursday (October 31), but unfortunately, it will be a shorter season than we’re used to! Keep reading to find out more… “It was my decision. [Netflix] was not happy. They wanted the full eight [episode count],” Debora told TVLine. Instead, season two will only feature six episodes. “I was really tired. It was a time thing. It felt like there wasn’t enough time to turn around eight of them. It was a lot to do in what appeared to be a short period of time,” she said. Well, she didn’t realize that it would be an 18-month gap between season one and two when she made that decision, and she might have changed her mind given that info. “Had we known it was going to be a year and a half before we got back on the air it would’ve been different,” she confirmed. Netflix already renewed the show for a third season, and she did confirm that season 3 will feature 8 episodes. Find out which season 1 actor will be exiting ahead of The Diplomat season 2.
