The Elite have made their feelings on Darby Allin very clear.
The AEW star returned on Dynamite this week, standing with Team AEW in their fight against The Elite. He replaces Eddie Kingston for the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing 2024, later this month.
In a backstage promo posted to Twitter, The Elite spoke about Darby Allin. Nicholas Jackson started off, reminding him of the last time they saw him was in the ring at Sting’s last match.
Matthew Jackson then joined in, calling him a ‘cockroach”.
“What the hell was that? Darby Allin? The last time we saw your ass, we retired Sting. You really want to deal with us again?” Nicholas Jackson said, before Matthew Jackson added;
“We keep picking these guys off one by one and they’re like cockroaches. Eddie Kingston goes bye-bye, but then another guy – Darby Allin – steps up to the plate. Guys, what is your freaking deal?”
Jack Perry then made himself known. He added “Honestly, I was wondering whose gonna be stupid enough to fill in for Eddie Kingston. It really shouldn’t be a surprise at all. It was Darby Allin. You know what Darby? The universe doesn’t seem to like you too much these days. You break your foot. You get hit by a bus! Now, you’re in Anarchy in the Arena. It seems to me like maybe the universe is calling up to finish you off.”
The Elite: We’re Team AEW, We Invented It!
The Elite continued their tirade toward Darby Allin. Matt Jackson began, claiming they would do what Everest couldn’t and end Darby Allin. This was before Matt Jackson jumped in, and note that The Elite invented AEW, and he himself came up with the name back in 2018.
“Mount Everest couldn’t do it. But guess who can? The Elite!” Nicholas Jackson said, before Matthew Jackson added;”
They say that your team AEW. Team AEW? Are you kidding me? We invented AEW. I came up with the name in a group chat. Remember that Tony? This is team AEW! You’re looking at team Elite, team AEW. We’re trying to clean this damn place up. Rid the toxicity. Rid the poison that has been in this company for the last few months. What happens when we finally start to clean the palette? A guy like Darby Allin shows up. Team AEW? It makes me sick.”
Finally, Kazuchika Okada jumped in to end the promo, hilariously ending it by shouting the word “Bitch” to finish.
“I’m going to make it rain or blood of rain? BITCH!”
