The administrative drama surrounding Dani Olmo is taking a favorable turn for FC Barcelona. This Wednesday, the Spanish Higher Sports Council (CSD) rendered a crucial decision: Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, until then prevented from playing due to a dispute over their registration, are now authorized to set foot on the pitch.

In an official press release published on January 8, the CSD granted an urgent interim measure in response to the request of FC Barcelona and the two players. This decision suspends the agreement of the Monitoring Commission of the RFEF-LaLiga Convention which canceled the sports licenses of the two recruits. Therefore, Dani Olmo and Pau Victor will be available this evening to participate in the Spanish Super Cup, where Barça faces Bilbao in the semi-final.
The CSD justified its decision by invoking article 27 of the Sports Law, which guarantees professional athletes “a sporting career consistent with their potential”. According to the Council, refusing this measure would have caused irreparable economic and professional harm for the players and the club, while undermining the integrity of the competitions.
