The Flight Attendant will not be returning for a third season. The show, which was originally set as a limited series, aired two seasons on Max with the second season ending in May 2022.
The move follows comments from star and exec producer Kaley Cuoco after the second season that the “plane had landed”. “I just kind of feel like we just ended,” she told People at the time.
The first season, which premiered in November 2020, followed Cuoco’s alcoholic, globe-trotting flight attendant, who became embroiled in an espionage plot following her affair with a first class passenger, who winds up murdered after their night together.
The second season saw Boden return with a fresh start in LA. She was sober and moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. But when an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue.
The Flight Attendant, which is based on Chris Bohjalian’s eponymous novel, also starred Zosia Mamet, Griffin Matthews, Deniz Akdeniz, and Rosie Perez.
Mo McRae, Callie Hernandez, and JJ Soria were also series regulars in the series, which also featured T.R. Knight, Yasha Jackson, Audrey Grace Marshall, Alanna Ubach, Cheryl Hines, Jessie Ennis, Mae Martin, Margaret Cho, Santiago Cabrera, Sharon Stone, and Shohreh Aghdashloo.
The Flight Attendant was developed by showrunner Steve Yockey, who serves as executive producer alongside co-showrunner and executive producer Natalie Chaidez. Greg Berlanti, Kaley Cuoco, Sarah Schechter, David Madden, Suzanne McCormack, and Silver Tree are executive producers. Jess Meyer is co-executive producer and Bonnie Munoz is producer.
The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, Cuoco’s Yes, Norman Productions, and Berlanti Productions.
