Gabriel Jesus’ knee problems mean Arsenal will sign a new striker this summer and the Gunners have a four-man shortlist, according to reports.
The north Londoners were desperate to land a forward in the January transfer window but were unable to compete a deal for their No.1 target Ivan Toney.
Toney, who has also been linked to Chelsea and Manchester United, looks set to leave Brentford at the end of the season and he is once again on Arsenal’s list.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who report that Toney is among four strikers Arsenal are looking at amid concerns over Jesus’ injury record.
Jesus has not played since January 30 due to a knee issue and it is thought Arsenal’s medical team are taking a cautious approach over his return.
The Gunners are keen to avoid further flare-ups over a player who has been dogged by knee problems since joining the club from Manchester City.
Arsenal would love to sign Toney this summer and there are three other players they are also keeping tabs on.
Napoli star Victor Osimhen is on the four-man list, along with Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, who have both attracted interest from Chelsea too.
The fourth striker is Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee and the Gunners have been closely monitoring the 22-year-old’s progress in Serie A.
The bad news, though, is that Erik ten Hag’s side are also keen on a move for Zirkzee and Arsenal must battle the Red Devils for his signature.
