EXCLUSIVE: The people behind the trailers, promos, and marketing of some of the biggest movies, series and games of the past year were feted in Portugal over the weekend at the Global Entertainment Awards.

Split across TV, games, cinema and streaming, the Awards feature categories for best key art, trailers, behind the scenes, and audio and social media spots. The accolades were handed out in an outdoor ceremony in the Algarve, Portugal, and hosted by actress-writer-director Sónia Balacó and Global Entertainment Awards Director Alejandro Barrios.

Season six of Netflix’s The Crown featured several times. Once Upon A Time scooped Best Key Art for its iconic image of the actors playing Queen Elizabeth at different stages of the monarch’s life. The agency also won Best Shortform Behind the Scenes for its work on the show. Make it Social landed Best AV Spot for the closing season of the Left Bank-produced series.

Netflix projects dominated the streaming categories with several wins for its Netflix Creative Studio in-house team. Lupin, NYAD and Birdbox Barcelona were among the streamer’s originals to feature — for Best Experiential Campaign, Best 360 Campaign and Best motion poster respectively.

Horror fared well. Best Social Media Spot and Best Audio Spot went to the The Picture Production for its work on the Paramount slasher Scream VI. Content Creator Studios won Best Experiential Marketing for its live-action trailer for The Exorcist: Believer.

By agency, Tiny Hero came out tops with six awards, including Best Online Advertising Campaign for Avatar: The Way of Water, Best Social Campaign for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Best AV Spot for Saltburn. Once Upon a Time also scooped multiple awards. The Refinery won a brace, Best Motion Poster for The Little Mermaid and Best Teaser for The Hunger.

Awards partner AMD gave its name to the emerging talent category, which yielded an international selection of winners hailing from Egypt, Germany, New Zealand, Uganda and the UK.

“We are delighted to have welcomed so many of our nominees and winners where we have celebrated the entertainment industry’s creative talent,” said Tim Cole, CEO of the Global Entertainment Awards. “These awards would not be possible without the sterling support of our partners AMD and media partner Deadline. The level of global support, enthusiasm and commitment of our judges has been exceptional.”

The awards took place at the Wyndham Grand Algarve where many of the nominees gathered for a weekend of talks and events before and after the awards were presented. Watch the full ceremony above, and check out the full roster of winners below.
