The IInspiration are getting back in the ring.
Prestige Wrestling announced The IInspiration (fka The IIconics) will be in action at its April 17 “Nothing To Lose” event in Las Vegas. This will mark the first match that Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay team up for in nearly three years.
The two-time Tag Team Champions last competed together in TNA (then IMPACT Wrestling) at the promotion’s Rebellion pay-per-view on April 23, 2022. The duo requested and received their release from the company that same month, with Lee announcing she was expecting her first child with husband Shawn Spears. Lee gave birth to a son in January 2023, and welcomed another son in June 2024. McKay and her partner also welcomed a son in December 2023.
McKay has not competed since leaving TNA/IMPACT, but Lee had a brief run with World Series Wrestling in Australia. She won the promotion’s women’s title in a gauntlet match that also featured Aysha, Harley Cameron, Jessica Troy and Lena Kross.
In September 2024, Spears spoke with Chris Van Vliet about his wife’s future in pro wrestling. He said that she keeps up on the product and still has the itch to return, noting that she was already training after giving birth to their second child.
“She watches it a lot. She watches it more than I do,” Shawn Spears said. “That doesn’t mean I don’t watch wrestling, it just means I’m busy a lot. I’m around, I can see a lot of stuff. Yeah, she keeps up on it. She still loves watching a lot of her friends, and she’s still getting the itch. So she’s already weight training, she’s doing all that kind of stuff. She’s getting back into the mix and things like that.
“When she feels 100% good to go there’s a ring close by, so she plans on getting back into it. She doesn’t know to what capacity, meaning no one said anything, no one said hey, when you ready, come on back. Like, not Impact, not anything, but with the working relationship. Who’s to say that that’s not a possibility? But yeah, she still misses it. I think she still has a little bit of an itch.”
