EXCLUSIVE: Leading PR firm The Lede Company on Thursday announced its appointment of Jackie Murphy to the role of Chief Impact Officer.
Reporting directly to Lede’s co-founders and co-CEOs, Amanda Silverman, Christine Su, Meredith O’Sullivan and Sarah Rothman, Murphy will run the company’s Impact division, which partners with some of the world’s most influential companies, brands, nonprofits, and artists to help them define, develop, and deliver commitments to social and environmental issues that create lasting positive change on a global scale.
Said Lede’s co-founders in a statement on the new hire, “Jackie is a dynamic leader and we’re thrilled to have her join us at Lede to run our Impact division. She brings years of expertise, innovation and deep relationships in this space and we are excited to work closely with her. Social Impact is an extraordinarily important focus for both our clients and colleagues as we work to create a more sustainable and equitable world.”

Helping to redefine how organizations create impact for two decades, Murphy most recently built and led the Brand Impact team at Edelman, where she launched and led Impact offerings in North America and Europe, counseling clients across industries and sectors. For the past decade, she served as Edelman’s Impact lead for Unilever, helping to shape and activate Unilever’s commitments to sustainability at the corporate, category, and brand level. Her work for brands like Dove, Dove Men+Care, Degree, Good Humor, Haleon (GSK), HP, Omo/Persil (Dirt is Good), TAZO, Vaseline, and Unilever has been awarded at the Anthem Awards, the Clios, the Effies, and Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas Awards, also making the company’s list of Most Innovative Companies. Additional accolades have come at the ONE Show, PR Week Purpose Awards, WARC Creative Effectiveness, the Webby’s, and the Cannes Lions, including multiple shortlists for the Glass Lion for Change for her work with Dove. Murphy began her career at influential Boston-based sustainability consultancy Cone where she was a founding member of the firm’s Nonprofit Marketing practice.
