Graham Potter was sacked as the manager of Chelsea after just a six month spell at Stamford Bridge.
He was signed by the Blues after his impressive work with Brighton but the manager failed to make an impact at the Premier League giants.
He was appointed as the manager in September 2022 but by April 2023, the Chelsea owners decided to get rid of the manager.
Among his many defeats as the manager of Chelsea, the most famous one was the one against Brighton.
His former team beat him 4-1 and he failed to recover after that with his stock falling to an all time low among the fanbase.
Potter has been away from the game since his Chelsea sacking but on Monday night, he returned to Sky Sports to analyse the Bournemouth vs Southampton match.
He opened up on his time at Chelsea and revealed the mistake he made at the club.
He said, as reported by the Daily Mail:
‘The mistake I made was thinking that new ownership means there’s a chance of a change of culture.
‘But actually culture runs a lot deeper than that. Before the World Cup we only lost three matches – Arsenal, Newcastle and Brighton but already the world was closing in, it was close to crisis.

‘Perspective is sometimes not so easy to get, Chelsea were used to winning and it was an easy thing to think “we’re not winning, it must be the coach who’s not worked at that level, maybe he’s the problem” and I can understand why they think that because the results weren’t what they expected.’
Since his departure, it hasn’t been smooth sailing for Chelsea, who have struggled in the Premier League.
They finished sixth last season under the leadership of Mauricio Pochettino, who parted ways with the club after the end of last season.
Chelsea have some hope under the current management
The arrival of new manager Enzo Maresca has given some hope to the Chelsea fans, with the Blues playing attacking football and sitting in the top four of the Premier League.
Cole Palmer is in the form of his life and optimism around the club has increased due to their impressive form and their new signings settling in well at the club.
Potter has been linked with a number of jobs since leaving Chelsea, the most prominent being the Manchester United and the England job but it remains to be seen what decision he makes regarding his future.
