The Rock made a surprising comeback at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event, getting fans excited about what he will do next. While his WWE future isn’t certain just yet, he has a lot of movies in the pipeline and in the meantime, he has been named the first cover star for GQ Magazine’s Man of the Year accolade.
The Great One has been keeping himself busy over the past year, not just in WWE but in the world of Hollywood and other ventures as well, many of which have been for the betterment of society as a whole. After all, fans are eagerly anticipating “The Smashing Machine” and his other works.
The Rock took to Twitter and revealed that he’s proud and honored to be the first GQ Magazine’s Man of the Year cover star of the year. He explained that he sat down with Zach Baron for the feature, where they talked about how hard it is for him to “hide” from the public. They spoke on the porch of his farm, which is a place he goes to relax and escape from the busy world.
The Rock mentioned that after 20 years of doing action and comedy movies, he’s excited to try something new — to step back and take a break. They also talked about their upcoming movies, Red One and Moana 2, and how he’s working on a very different movie, The Smashing Machine, with A24.
The Rock mentioned that in August, he invited Zach to his farm in Virginia to film the GQ Magazine video cover story. They had a great time talking. The Rock said his farm is where he goes to get away from everything. During their conversation, he was able to be open and honest. The video gave a deeper look at him, just like a regular GQ article would. He talked about how his career changed from wrestling to Hollywood and why he’s ready to take on new challenges like The Smashing Machine.
“Pretty cool and humbling to be this year’s first #GQMOTY cover star. I sat with @zachbaron for this feature and we talked a lot about how it’s hard for me to “hide,” as we sat on the porch at my farm, which is the place I go to step away from the noise. There’s no being inconspicuous these days. But after two decades of high action, adventure and comedy in huge movies, we talked about how I’m excited to do something entirely new: vanish. Zach and I talked about our big upcoming films, Red One and Moana 2, and the deep exploration I did with a completely different kind of movie – A24’s, The Smashing Machine.

The Rock also hasn’t confirmed that he will miss WrestleMania 41, so his status remains uncertain. Nonetheless, fans feel he more than deserves this accolade of being the first cover star for GQ Magazine’s “Men of the Year” accolade and that’s all that matters to them in the end.
