The Rock reveals his female empowerment song for the upcoming Moana 2 film.

The WWE legend is busy with not one but two upcoming Moana movies. He is set to voice Maui in the sequel to the first animated movie, in a role that earned him critical acclaim.

He’s also portraying the same role in a live-action remake of Moana, keeping him very busy alongside the release of his Christmas movie Red One earlier this month.

The Rock recently appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and discussed the upcoming Moana 2. The former WWE Champion revealed that he does sing a new song in the film after the success of “You’re Welcome” from the first movie.

He explained how the song Chee Hoo! is a female empowerment song as his character empowers the titular main character to achieve her dreams.

“In the first one, I sang ‘What can I say except you’re welcome‘. And in this one. What I like about this one is we have Barlow & Bea. They are a great writing tandem, artists who won a Grammy, by the way, for Bridgerton. They came in, and they wrote this song. At first, I thought, ‘Well, You’re Welcome is gonna be hard to follow. How do you follow that?’ But then they came up with this idea and the concept of following it with a female empowerment song sung by Maui to empower Moana.” The Rock said to Jimmy Fallon.

“I thought it’s not only perfect timing but also important to empower this girl. Because it’s like, hey, whatever you think you can’t do, you actually can do. So it’s great! It’s called Can I Get a Chee Hoo? Okay, so in Polynesian culture, you know, we’re like, ‘Chee hoo!’ Right? Like, that’s a thing.”
