On the March 1st, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Roman Reigns and the Bloodline started the show with their entrance, soaking in the crowd’s acknowledgement in Arizona. The Rock then took over and his promo went overtime, which led to major changes for Naomi.

The crowd’s persistent chants for Cody Rhodes led to Roman Reigns urging Paul Heyman to conclude their appearance. However, things took an unexpected twist when The Rock appeared. The Rock, solidifying his heel persona, addressed Cody Rhodes’ challenge for a singles match at WrestleMania but declined.

Instead, he proposed a tag team match for Night One of WrestleMania 40, featuring Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins against Roman Reigns and himself, introducing new dynamics to the main event storyline.

As previously reported, The Rock’s promo segment went longer than expected. According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, Naomi’s entrance and other planned segments were omitted from the broadcast due to The Rock’s promo. This resulted in Tiffany Stratton and Naomi getting a combined two segments that lasted nine minutes, including entrances and the conclusion.

”The Rock’s segment with Roman Reigns went over by over ten minutes. Naomi’s entrance and some other things were cut from the broadcast as a result. Tiffany Stratton and Naomi were supposed to get a combined two segments, and ended up going nine minutes including commercials from entrances to the finish.”

The Rock’s promo segment also drew insane views on YouTube. Nevertheless, it can be argued that women deserve better in WWE but considering how huge a draw The Rock is, fans understand why the segments had to be cut.
