The Rock captivated fans during his latest run in WWE but he has clearly moved on to other projects. Notably, he also worked on ‘Moana 2’ and now it appears his Seven Bucks Production house has secured a first look deal with Disney.
Seven Bucks Productions, founded by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Dany Garcia, has inked a first-look deal with The Walt Disney Company to develop both theatrical releases and streaming films. According to Variety, this multi-year agreement marks a significant collaboration across all Disney divisions, potentially involving projects that could feature Johnson in starring roles.
Previously, Seven Bucks Productions and Disney collaborated on various ventures, notably including “Jungle Cruise,” which starred Johnson alongside Emily Blunt, and the production of two seasons of “Behind the Attraction” for Disney+.
In addition to these ventures, Johnson is set to reprise his role as demigod Maui in “Moana 2,” scheduled for release this November. The original film, released in 2016, achieved record-breaking success, with its latest trailer amassing 178 million views within 24 hours, setting new benchmark for Disney animation trailers. We’ll have to see how the current deal with Disney turns out in the end.
