In what came as no surprise, filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo stepped onstage at San Diego Comic-Con‘s Hall H to confirm that they’re returning to helm the next set of Avengers movies.

Before they came onstage, a reel of their movies Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Captain America Winter Soldier and Captain America Civil War played.

It was also announced that the Fantastic Four will appear in both Avengers movies.

The next two Avengers movies were last announced at Comic-Con 2022 to wrap up phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (May 1, 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (May 7, 2027).

Kang Dynasty originally starred Jonathan Majors, who played new mega villain Kang the Conqueror before being found guilty of reckless assault and harassment in his domestic violence trial by a six-person NYC jury.

The Russos told us back at The Gray Man premiere in July 2022 that “The one series that we adored growing up was Secret Wars. It’s incredibly ambitious. It would be bigger than Infinity War and Endgame. But it’s a massive undertaking.”

The Russos delivered four of the biggest films in Marvel history: Avengers: Endgame ($2.79 billion, the second highest grossing movie of all-time), Avengers: Infinity War ($2.05 billion), Captain America: Civil War ($1.15B) and Captain America: Winter Solider ($714.4M).
