Paris-Saint Germain are looking to the future as Kylian Mbappé prepares to leave this summer.
PSG are on course to retain their Ligue 1 title at the end of the campaign and offer Mbappé his sixth French championship title since he was in Paris. However, despite his insistence on leaving the club, Mbappé appears determined to pursue the common goal of a first UEFA Champions League victory.
The club is expected to invest massively to strengthen its squad for the 2024/25 season, with the departure of its star for Real Madrid. As part of the reconstruction project, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi pledged to promote youth and build a team with a long-term vision.
A long-term vision
“We said at the start of the season that we wanted to build a team for the future. A team that can play together for another six to eight years,” according to Diario AS. “We have the youngest team in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. We have the youngest team of the top ten European clubs. We are proud and it is fantastic to follow this strategy with young players, also French, to achieve the maximum. »
Al-Khelaifi’s view on young talent was demonstrated in the Champions League round of 16 tie against Real Sociedad, which saw 18-year-old Frenchmen Warren Zaire-Emery and Bradley Barcola double starts and 21 years old.
