Marriage has helped Gavin Casalegno develop a better understanding of a key plot point to his hit series The Summer I Turned Pretty. The 25-year-old actor brings the character Jeremiah Fisher to life on the Prime Video show. If you were unaware, his character is caught up in a love triangle involving Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney). After surprising fans by revealing that he’d gotten married to his love Cheyanne in November 2024, Gavin said that he has a better grasp of Isabel’s relationship with Conrad. Keep reading to find out more… Gavin opened up about the dynamics of the relationship while participating in a panel at Texas Christian University on Valentine’s Day. “Growing up, I never understood the Conrad appeal, unfortunately. I think being an adult now, and just trying to figure out my life, it made me understand — while looking for life partners — the whole Belly and Conrad thing,” he told the audience, via People. He continued, saying that “having stability and having someone to do life with who is your best friend” is what you really need in a relationship. “You always hear about being friends first so when you jump into something romantic, you know everything about each other,” he added. “At the end of the day, sparks can fade but when you have a solid relationship and solid friendship, I don’t think people understand [it's important].” Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty is expected to premiere on Prime Video in the summer of 2025.
