This is shocking information revealed by the Spanish press this Wednesday evening in the middle of the match between Real Madrid and Atalanta in the European Super Cup. The daily The Vanguardia explained that the father of the young Spanish star Lamine Yamal, Mounir Nasraoui, had been stabbed in a car park in Mataró, a town located a few kilometres from Barcelona. In a serious condition, he was quickly taken to hospital. Finally, during the night, the Spanish media explained that his life was no longer in danger since he was now in a stable condition and remained under observation in hospital.

A chilling story, then, while we still knew nothing about the details of this affair. This Thursday morning, the World Sports gave some additional information on the circumstances of this tragedy and the state of health of the father of the young Barça player. Mounir Nasraoui was violently stabbed around 9:10 p.m., in a car park on Frank Marshall Street in the Rocafonda district of Mataró. A neighbourhood well known to the father since he lives there and it is also the neighbourhood where Lamine Yamal grew up. The latter, during his celebrations, often represents the number 304 with his fingers. These are the last digits of the postal code of his neighbourhood, Rocafonda, in Mataró (08304).

A trivial dispute with the residents of a building?

He was stabbed twice in the abdomen after an argument in the street with men who had approached him while he was walking his dog. The father explained that he was walking calmly in the street when three individuals stopped him and threw water at him from a balcony. A big argument then took place between the player’s father and the residents of the building. A fight even broke out, but things calmed down afterwards. And a few hours later, things got out of hand. After this attack, the first news was not good regarding Mounir Nasraoui’s state of health. Given the seriousness of his injuries, the emergency services finally decided to transfer him to the Can Ruti hospital in Badalona, which has much more resources than the hospital in Mataró. After several hours, his condition stabilised. But contrary to some reports that he had already left the hospital, he did indeed spend the whole night there and is still under observation.

The Mossos investigation unit arrested three men, around 10:30 p.m., who are believed to be involved in this attack. Witnesses were able to help locate the potential attackers. Other arrests are expected to take place during the day. According to the World Sportsthis announcement completely disturbed Lamine Yamal who should not be present this Thursday morning at Barça training. FC Barcelona was quickly informed of the situation and was able to keep the player informed of his father’s state of health. The investigation will now have to determine the reasons for this aggression which visibly began in a harmless way with an altercation at the end of the afternoon for a water jet…
