Gaming has arguably never been bigger than it is in 2024, and there aren’t any signs of it slowing down. Over the years, the gaming community has grown and grown into what we know today, a huge industry in the world of tech, and one of the biggest industries in the world.

With this, new improvements to tech and gadgets come out each year, improving players’ experience when playing. These range from small to extremely expensive pieces of tech, but things that improve any player’s experience, whether they’re playing the latest first person shooter or online casino games.

In this article, we’ll be looking at some of the best tech and gadgets you can buy to improve your gaming experiences in 2024, and to ensure you’re ahead of the game and get every advantage possible.

Headset

One of the most important pieces of equipment and gadgets you can have in a gaming set-up is a good headset. Most games you’ll use audio to determine where the enemies are and which direction they’re coming from. Having a good headset is like having a pair of eyes in the back of your head and can be the difference between winning and losing.

These days headsets vary in prices ranging anywhere from £10 to thousands of pounds. Obviously the more you pay the better quality headset you’ll have, however there are hundreds of quality headsets on the market these days at very affordable prices. A headset is a real must buy for gaming fans.

Controller

Gaming controllers have been an integral part of players’ gaming experience for years and years and are still one of the most important pieces of tech you use when gaming. Having a good quality responsive controller is so important these days. Considering everything you do goes through the controller, you want to ensure you’ve got the best chances of winning, and a good controller will help you on your way to that.

Just like headsets, controllers range in prices, from relatively cheap non branded ones, to expensive elite or pro controllers which can be fully customised and even custom built to your preferences, such as button layout or even additional triggers.

Whilst this can be expensive, we recommend getting a decent controller, as a better, more well built controller is also more likely to last longer, meaning you won’t be buying twice and spending more in the long run.

Mouse and keyboard

If using a controller isn’t really your style, then using a keyboard and mouse is your other alternative. Traditionally used by PC players instead of a controller like console players, keyboard and mouse offers more flexibility in terms of playing style, although it is harder to master.

Gaming keyboards and mouses come in all different shapes, sizes and price ranges with no two the same. It’s worth doing your research before investing as gaming keyboards and mouses can fetch a hefty amount for high end ones.

Monitor

Arguably one of the most important pieces of equipment you’ll use when gaming is the monitor. This is one of the pieces of tech we would advise not to try and save money on as having a decent monitor is really a game changer. We’d recommend having at least 120 refresh rate, this allows things to be shown quicker on your monitor.

Monitors are probably going to be one of your biggest expenses so it’s important to look into it before investing as there’s so many different brands, sizes and models out there for you to choose from.

Desk and chair

Having a nice desk and a good comfy chair is imperative to a good gaming experience. It’s somewhere you’ll be sat for possibly hours on end (I know I have!), and it’s one that having a comfy chair makes all the difference.

Either an office or gaming chair will work, ensure the height of the chair matches up with your desk to avoid any issues, and you’re good to go. The nicer chair you sit in, the more time you’ll be able to enjoy your other gaming gadgets as you’ll be able to sit at your desk for longer.

Gaming is something that can be enjoyed by everyone, however to newer players it can also be a daunting world you’re stepping into. However by doing the right research and proper planning, you can ensure your gaming setup is ready for any occasion or any game.

Your gaming setup doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive, just practical and work. Once you’ve got the necessities, you can then slowly start upgrading things as you see fit.
