SPOILER ALERT: This story features details from recent episodes of The Traitors.

Superfans of The Traitors UK will have the option of heading to their local cinema to watch Friday’s anticipated season two finale.

So far, four independent cinemas in London and regional towns across the UK have launched bespoke screenings for the BBC gameshow. Those cinemas are London’s Catford Mews and Ealing Project cinemas, Birmingham’s Mockingbird Cinema and Reading Biscuit Factory. This could be the first time a show of this kind has been shown in cinemas.

Mockingbird Cinema has styled their screening as a “watch party,” with a 140-minute run time. “Join us for The Finale of The Traitors Season 2 on The Big Screen,” the cinema’s listing reads. Tickets for the screening cost just £1 ($1.28), and the cinema has said all proceeds will be given to charity.  Tickets at the other three cinemas, however, are free. As expected, all four cinemas have created an assortment of Traitor-related snacks and beverages, including poisoned chalices for drinks.

The second season of The Traitors, which has been airing three episodes a week at 9 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. PT), has been pulling in some serious heat for the BBC. We reported last week that a mid-week episode attracted 4.4M viewers – a record.

That record was eclipsed by last night’s 4.7M and is reflective of the fact that Season 2 has grown in stature throughout its run. BBC iPlayer ratings have in reality pushed the numbers far higher for the show that airs three days per week across four weeks.

Tonight, viewers, which could top 5M for the first time in the show’s history, will tune in to see if either Harry or Andrew get found out as traitors as they take on remaining faithfuls Jaz, Mollie and Evie. Jaz has his sights set on Harry and the key now is whether he can follow through with his convictions.

Last year’s equivalent episode saw the dramatic ‘a parting gift’ line delivered by traitor Kieran, which was the downfall of his fellow traitor Wilf, who had up until then managed to keep his traitor identity a secret throughout the entire series.

The Traitors is produced by All3Media-backed Squid Game: The Challenge maker Studio Lambert. The U.S. version is currently unspooling on Peacock.
