The two managers in line to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United

Erik ten Hag is under increasing pressure to keep his job at Manchester United beyond this summer as the Dutchman’s disastrous second season in charge comes to an end.

Later this afternoon, the Premier League curtain-closer against Brighton will determine whether United finish the season lower than 7th, which was the club’s lowest finish in the Premier League era prior to this campaign.

Despite the possibility of lifting the FA Cup next weekend, Ten Hag’s job remains in the balance and there is no guarantee that INEOS, spearheaded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, will keep him.

Now, there is an update on the situation as it has emerged that two clubs are keeping an eye on Ten Hag, with Ajax and Bayern Munich both believing he will be sacked by INEOS regardless of the result of next week’s FA Cup final.

That’s according to the Mirror, who say that United will have to fork out a £10m payout to the Dutchman if he is axed with one year remaining on his deal.

Additionally, it is claimed that Ten Hag will seek assurances from Ratcliffe and look to sign a new contract and could even walk out if he does not feel that he is properly backed to lead the club under the new ownership.

As per the report, Ajax and Bayern are both on the lookout for a new manager and Ten Hag could become available as early as later this month.

Should that be the case, former Chelsea managers Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter are then in line to replace Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Potter has been out of a job since he was sacked by Chelsea at the end of last season and Tuchel managed his final game for Bayern Munich earlier this weekend.
