AMC did not delay in moving full speed ahead with The Vampire Lestat as the next chapter of Interview With the Vampire and surprised SDCC 2024 attendees with a new trailer and song tease from the next season.

The Comic-Con panel for AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe featured Interview With the Vampire’s cast and creatives, led by showrunner Rolin Jones, on hand to talk about season two’s stunning conclusion, which wrapped up the events of Rice’s first novel centered on Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson).

Before Louis’ devastatingly romantic reunion with Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), we got a tease that Lestat would be going on tour soon—queuing up Interview‘s next season as an adaptation of The Vampire Lestat (my personal favorite of the Rice novels). “So much of the beauty in Anne Rice’s work is the prose. And we made a decision early on to use as much of her prose as possible,” Jones shared about the decision to keep going with her direct influence—and may she continue to possess that writer’s room.

Watch the trailer for Interview With the Vampire season 3 here, where we get a taste of Lestat’s rockstar era by ways of Velvet Goldmine and velvety vocals not too unlike Hozier.

It’s everything we wanted and more: the sassy interplay between Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), directing the tale as a rock documentary, and our fave drama queen, who doesn’t just give full control of the narrative as seen above. It’s gonna be a riot to watch this duo interact as they expose the rise of a real-life vampire on the road to superstardom—which totally won’t piss off other vampires who prefer to remain in the shadows. Or you know… lure an ancient vampire queen out of her slumber.

AMC, which knows the value of fan service, also shared a blooper reel from season two.

The Vampire Lestat returns in Interview With the Vampire season three, coming soon to AMC and AMC+.
