The Weeknd Donates $1 Million to Los Angeles Fire Relief Efforts

The Weeknd is the latest star to support relief efforts amid the ongoing devastating flames blazing across Southern California.

On Friday (January 17), it was revealed that the 34-year-old “Call Out My Name” singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has donated $1 million to several different organizations through his XO Humanitarian Fund and the World Food Program USA.

Keep reading to find out more…The Weeknd has donated money to the LAFD Foundation, GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund and LA Regional Food Bank, according to Deadline.

The donations come on the heels of The Weekend postponing the release of his next album Hurry Up Tomorrow, which was scheduled to drop on January 24. The album is now expected to be released on January 31.

He has also canceled his concert set for January 25 at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, Calif.

In a new interview, The Weeknd talked about possibly retiring his alter ego and quitting music.
