The Wrestling World Reacts to Sika Anoa’i’s Passing

The world of professional wrestling mourns the loss of a true legend as Sika Anoa’i of the Wild Samoans passed away peacefully on at the age of 79. Many professional wrestlers have since reacted to his passing, expressing their condolences and sharing memories of the wrestling icon.

Sika Anoa’i’s nephew Jahrus Anoa’i broke the sad news of the WWE Hall of Famer’s unfortunate passing. Since the announcement, fellow WWE Hall of Famers and pro wrestlers have paid tribute to Sika.

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray took to Twitter and uploaded a couple of photos of himself and D-Von Dudley alongside The Wild Samoans, revealing they were the reason he wanted to be a pro wrestler.

”The 1st Tag Team I ever saw and the reason I wanted to be a Tag Team Wrestler was The Wild Samoans.

My sincere condolences to the entire extended Anoa’i family.

This was followed by former WWE Superstar and current AEW name Taz, who took to Twitter and recounted how he was part of a security team while WWF did a show at his high school gymnasium. He recalled how he had the privilege of walking Afa & Sika to their vehicles.

”When I was high school, WWF did a show in our gymnasium. We (the football team) was security for the guys to go to thier cars after the show. I had the honor of walking Afa & Sika to their vehicles and they both were so nice to me had me laughing a lot, great memory! My deepest condolences to@WWERomanReigns on the passing of his father along with the entire Anoa’i family on losing this HOF’er & pure legend. RIP Sika.”

Even Monday Night RAW General Manager Adam Pearce took to Twitter and reacted to Sika’s unfortunate passing as he shared his condolences to Sika’s family.

”Godspeed, Sika. Your legacy and contributions to our wonderful industry can never be questioned. My heart goes out to the entire Anoa’i family, their friends, and everyone touched by this. Rest well, sir. My respect, always. 🙏 ☝️”

Sika Anoa’i leaves behind a legacy as a true pioneer in professional wrestling and a mentor to countless wrestlers. His impact on the sport is unmatched, and his contributions will resonate within the wrestling community and beyond for generations to come. Sika’s influence as part of the legendary Wild Samoans tag team, and later as a trainer, has shaped the careers of numerous wrestlers, including his own family members and many others who have passed through his wrestling schools.

His passing marks the end of an era, and while there will never be another Sika, his memory will endure as an enduring inspiration to all who knew him and all who were touched by his remarkable career.
