Veteran Nollywood actor, Toyin Oshinaike has talked about the highest salary he has ever received in his playing career. He disclosed that he was paid thousands of dollars for only thirty minutes of work in a foreign film.
Oshinaike made the revelation during an interview on the Oyinmomo TV official YouTube channel, where he shared details about his career milestones, including his highest earnings both on stage and in film.
The seasoned actor, who has made significant contributions to Nollywood and theater, expressed his amazement at the amount he earned for such a short period of work on the international project.
While discussing his career trajectory, Oshinaike reflected on his experiences in stage acting, mentioning how he traveled to the United States and London for a six-month theatrical production of Things Fall Apart.
The project, which saw him performing alongside notable industry figures, earned him weekly payments in British pounds, making it one of his most financially rewarding stage performances.
However, despite the substantial earnings from his theater work, the actor admitted that his biggest surprise came from a brief role in a Disney movie, where he was handsomely rewarded for minimal effort.
In his words; “I’ve worked on several projects that have paid me mouthwatering amounts. However, I’d like to split them into two categories: one is my highest pay for a stage drama, and the other is my highest pay for a movie shoot. For the stage drama, I traveled to the United States and London with Top Mike to perform Things Fall Apart. It was a six-month project, and I was paid in pounds every week. When I converted all my earnings for those six months into Nigerian currency, it was a much. However, in terms of movie projects, the one that surprised me the most was a little work I had to do to earn a significant amount. I’ve heard about it before, but it has happened to me to work little for a huge pay. I featured in a movie for Disney, where I was required to work for just 30 minutes. After completing the work, I was paid several thousand dollars.”
