The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has shared a personal story of how he was once investigated by the very agency he now leads, with the probe ultimately exonerating him of any wrongdoing.
Speaking in a video shared by Channels TV, Olukoyede recalled that during the investigation, authorities discovered he was a signatory to multiple bank accounts. Initially raising suspicions, further examination revealed that the accounts belonged to the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), where Olukoyede held a trusted administrative role.
“When I was being investigated, the only thing they saw was so many accounts I was signatory to,” he recounted. “They said they have caught me. They found out it was Redeem’s church accounts.”
