Coach Luis Enrique and superstar Kylian Mbappé no longer speak to each other as their relationship at Paris Saint-Germain deteriorates.

The PSG coach took the striker out prematurely twice in as many matches, which inevitably sparked controversy over his reasoning. During the Parisians’ last match against Monaco on Friday evening, Luis Enrique brought the striker out at half-time and saw him settle in the stands. Today, Le Parisien reveals that Mbappe and the coach no longer speak to each other after these two premature substitutions.

Speaking to the press, Luis Enrique explained that the decision to replace his star was a way for PSG to get used to playing without their superstar striker. With Mbappé expected to leave the French capital this summer, the Spanish coach wants to find new solutions to live without one of the best players in the world. However, this cannot be done without frustrating the person concerned, who is necessarily eager to play every minute of every match.

The power is out

The PSG star is ready to take a pay cut in Paris to join Madrid next summer. The Bondynois is expected to earn between 15 and 20 million euros per year as base salary before bonuses. Even with this drop in salary, he will become the highest paid player in the Bernabeu squad.

The Parisians travel to Spain to face Real Sociedad in the round of 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday, after winning a crushing victory (2-0) in the first leg. However, with tensions high between Mbappé and Luis Enrique, who knows how many minutes the Frenchman will play.
