Turkish club Besiktas have terminated a young player’s contract after his dating profile was spotted online and spread across social media.

Emirhan Delibas, 21, left the club by mutual consent, although the winger denied the profile was his and called the account “fake”.

His description told researchers he was a club footballer, provided his Instagram handle and revealed he was looking for “something casual”. However, the player sought to distance himself from his profile.

In a statement posted on Instagram, he said: “ I reject the slander spread by fake accounts and I want to affirm that my loyalty to my team cannot be questioned. Besiktas is a responsibility for me. Your love has been my greatest motivation. »
