This summer could be a transferred transfer window for Real Madrid. Regarding potential departures, Luka Modric could be one of the candidates, including the current contract with the title champion of La Liga and Europe is coming to an end.

Modric has been playing in Real Madrid for almost 13 years and, although he has not been a holder, he has always been an essential player for coach Carlo Ancelotti, who often trusted this experienced midfielder, especially in Liga.

Modric played 48 games for Real Madrid this season, his last appearance that took place on Saturday during the 2-1 defeat at home against Valence. Currently, he has less than three months left to the club, and the hopes of a one-year contract extension are not yet there, Marca having indicated that no decision had yet been made as for the possibility for the 39-year player to stay until 2026.

Luka Modric towards the Pro League?

Pending a decision by Real Madrid, Modric begins to arouse interest. According to some information, Qatar is interested in a lucrative contract which would allow him to receive a good sum of money before the end of his career, scheduled after the 2026 World Cup in the United States and North America.

This season, Modric turned out to be very precious for Real Madrid, but the club seeming interested in a summer transfer for Martin Zubimendi, this could push the Croatian midfielder to the exit door.

The decision to stay or leave from Modric should be taken before the end of the season, which would make it possible to prepare a possible departure. If Real Madrid gives the green light to the negotiations for an extension of lease, an agreement would be quickly reached.
