Thomas Tuchel will name his first England squad on Friday and the massive news is that Big Dan Burn has been included!

The ever reliable David Ornstein of The Athletic stating his information is that the Newcastle United defender will get his first ever call up.

Dan Burn will turn 33 in May and getting this England selection is a huge boost and well-earned reward, just ahead of Wembley on Sunday and the Carabao Cup Final.

Other media have backed up this Dan Burn news, including John Murray at BBC Radio 5 Live.

David Ornstein says that also in the England squad that will be officially confirmed later today, there will be call ups for Marcus Rashford, Morgan Rogers, Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon and a first ever one for Myles Lewis-Skelly. Obviously Lewis Hall’s injury helping to open that door for the Arsenal teenager.

England begin their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign with matches against Albania and Latvia at Wembley, on March 21 and 24 respectively.
